Green cars have evolved rapidly in recent years. Here at MINI of Peabody, we’ve noticed that the MINI brand has made its cars more fuel-efficient, and it’s even introduced a hybrid model in recent years. The MINI brand is now planning to introduce its first electric model, but if you think it’s going to be some boring green car, think again. This could be the world’s first electric “hot hatch.”

You know that MINI cars have always focused on performance. Just about every model, from the 2019 MINI Countryman to the 2019 MINI Clubman, have a “Cooper S” or “John Cooper Works” trim level that offers more horsepower and torque. Even the base models offer a great driving experience though, thanks to TwinPower Turbo engines and handling that’s inspired by the MINI brand’s racing past.

This new MINI model would set itself apart by being the world’s first electric hot hatch. A hot hatch is typically a smaller vehicle that’s been tuned for performance. They use specialized parts and have been designed with speed and great cornering performance in mind. Usually, they require a potent gasoline or diesel engine, but we’re confident that the MINI brand will be able to develop an incredible electric hot hatch unlike anything we’ve seen before. This electric MINI vehicle could also offer a driving range of around 200 miles and have an output of around 180 horsepower. We look forward to seeing it for ourselves!
