Did you know the 2016 MINI Countryman can hold a lot of food that can be used for donations to help end hunger? It can, especially if it’s driven by a participant in the MINI TAKES TO THE STATES 2016 rally which began last week. Our friends at MINI, in partnership with Feeding America®, intend to do big things to help #DefyHunger in America.

“MINI TAKES THE STATES is the ultimate road trip and we’re as excited for the adventure as we are for our cause,” said Tom Noble, MINI Brand Communications Department Head. “The fight against hunger has many faces, it’s not always a lack of food but rather a lack of the right resources to avoid waste, maximize efficiencies and get the food where it’s needed most. Through our Feeding America partnership, we hope to raise money and awareness as we motor with purpose across America.”

The MINI TAKES THE STATES 2016 cross-country rally began on July 9 in Atlanta and ends on July 23 in Palm Springs. During the course of the 15-day rally more than 4,000 motorers will travel more than 4,300 miles through 18 states. The rally intends to bring awareness to the problem of hunger by using the hashtag #DefyHunger as well as collecting donations. And together with partner Feeding America, MINI intends to provide families in need with 800,000 meals.

“Big things happen when the MINI community comes together, and this year is no different,” said Noble.
