September of 2015 saw global growth of the MINI brand with an 8.6% increase in sales over September of last year. The first nine months of 2015 saw record worldwide sales with an 18.7% increase, a total of 246,426 MINI vehicles delivered. Standout models include the MINI 3 Door or MINI 2 Door with Hatchback with 13.8% increase sales in the first nine months of 2015 over the prior year. The MINI 5 Door sold 67,961 vehicles year to date worldwide.
With its September appearance, expectations are high for the new MINI Clubman in the premium compact segment. The 2016 MINI Clubman boasts a spirited performance with the turbocharged 1.5 liter 3-cylinder engine. The Cooper trim delivers 134 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque with the 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. The Cooper S trim offers a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine paired with the 8-speed automatic o 6-speed manual transmission. The longer and wider design offers comfortable seating for up to five passengers and up to 47.9 cubic feet of cargo space. Premium features include an HD display integrating infotainment, interior controls, and your smartphone and an optional head up display.
