Here at MINI of Peabody, we’ve noticed that more drivers are looking for green cars lately. Whether you’re concerned about the environment or you just want to save money on gas, a hybrid or electric model could be perfect for you. The MINI brand already offers some green models, but now it’s getting ready for an even greener future. It was recently announced that all upcoming MINI cars will be available with electrified powertrains.
An electrified powertrain generally means one of two things. It can mean an all-electric model that doesn’t require fuel at all. It runs solely on battery power and eventually needs to be recharged. We recently covered the MINI Cooper SE Prototype here on this blog. That’s an all-electric vehicle.
The other option is a hybrid. This uses a combination of traditional fuel and battery power to dramatically boost fuel efficiency. Some hybrid models can often travel a short distance on battery power alone as well. The 2019 MINI Countryman recently started to come in a hybrid variant, which made up over ten percent of the nameplate’s total sales last year.
Other MINI models will soon become available in hybrid and electric versions. The good news is that the MINI performance you know and love isn’t going anywhere. As we saw with the MINI Cooper SE Prototype, the brand’s engineers know how to go green and keep a fun driving experience. We can’t wait to see what other green MINI cars can do.
