When you’re buying a used car, reliability is likely one of your main concerns. After all, you do not want to buy a pre-owned car that ends up letting you down a year later. Here at MINI of Bedford, our dealers are happy to report that used MINI Cooper vehicles are some of the most reliable on the market. They consistently receive high scores from agencies such as Consumer Reports and J.D. Power.
One of the best ways to determine if a used car is reliable is by checking out the reliability ratings from agencies such as J.D. Power and Consumer Reports. Though the new 2021 model has not been rated yet, models from the past few years have done well in the J.D Power rankings. In fact, in the 2019 U.S Vehicle Dependability Study, J.D. Power found that MINI ranked sixth among all automakers (31 total) for reliability. This means that MINI Cooper vehicles had among the fewest reported issues.
Another one of the main ratings agencies is Consumer Reports. Particularly, the agency recommends MINI models from the 2014 through current model years, of which we have many here at our Peabody MINI dealership. These models received above-average reliability scores. Here is what the editors noted about these (now) used MINI vehicles:
“Improved ride and better noise isolation make it more suitable for longer drives and up to date connectivity for the time was welcomed… The MINI’s frisky character and unmatched charm remain intact.”
